We’ve talked about how to pair your favorite steak with (not just red) wine before, but not so much about what spots in Metro Manila are at the top of their game, doing just that. Whether you’re after a simply-grilled ribeye or are celebrating with a smoky bone-in tomahawk, these are (Super)Natural’s favorite steakhouses and restaurants serving up juicy slabs and the best wines to go with them!
Il Lupino Prime

When it comes to Italian cuisine, no one does it quite like restaurateur Peter Zweiner and Chef Alessio Loddo’s Il Lupino Prime at Opus Mall. But more than just a trattoria serving fresh takes on traditional Italian food and some of the best prime steaks this side of the Metro, it is also a wine bar—in fact its extensive, curated wine list with over 200 labels sourced won Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2005.
Must-Try Wine Pairing:
While we often imagine big bold reds with our steaks, Patrick Bouju’s Mol Rouge is a natural wine with a softer take on your usual red wine pairing. It works well with Il Lupino’s classic Bistecca made with USDA Prime Dry-Aged T-Bone—and even their Prime Grilled Lamb Chops!
Il Lupino Prime is located at 1/F Opus Mall, Bridgetowne, Quezon City.
Kasa Palma
A lush oasis of calm in the middle of the Poblacion nightlife district, Michelin-starred Kasa Palma is the sort of place you kick back and enjoy the good life. That said, the flavors here—whether you’re enjoying their tasting menu or ordering ala carte—are always bold and tropical, backed up by mean woodfire technique and Chef Aaron Isip’s years of culinary experience in France. Said background also comes out to play with their curated selection of wines (many of which are natural!) and in his take on Steak Frites with Entrecote Sauce and Smoked Wagyu Fat Frites.
Must-Try Wine Pairing:
Whether you’re going for their Okan Wagyu Tomahawk or Ribcap, Kasa Palma’s luxurious Steak Frites finds a great partner in a bottle of Jean-Claude Lapalu’s Beaujolais Villages!
Kasa Palma is located at 6042 R. Palma Street, Poblacion, Makati.
Smith & Wollensky
There are many steakhouses, but only one can call itself “the steakhouse to end all arguments.” New York City’s Smith and Wollensky is that place, bringing its signature swinging tomahawk (with a showstopping tableside cut) and chateaubriand to the discerning steak lovers of Metro Manila. All beef—from USDA Prime to American Wagyu—is chosen from the top 2% of cattle in the United States, and you can bet that their extensive wine list is curated with the same care and flair.
Must-Try Wine Pairing:
Smith & Wollensky’s signature 44 0z. Swinging Tomahawk is a must-try, but the whole experience is completed with a good glass of red wine—and one of our favorite pairings with it is Chateau Meylet’s convention-defying take on Bordeaux, their Cuvee Carbone.
Smith & Wollensky is located at 2/F The Finance Centre, 26th St corner 9th Ave, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Bolero
Smack dab in the middle of the hustle of Bonifacio Global City, Chef Fernando Alcala’s Bolero serves modern takes on Spanish sharing plates (not to mention one of Metro Manila’s best cheesecakes), with creative flavors and great service that bagged it a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2025. In true Mediterranean fashion, their wine list is one that compliments their menu’s bold flavors, which include meats fresh off the grill.
Must-Try Wine Pairing:
Bolero grills up a mean Beef Skirt and Premium Wagyu Beef Striploin, both leaner cuts that shine with lighter reds with plenty of juiciness. Our favorite on their wine list? Judith Beck’s vibrant Beck Ink!
Bolero is located at G/F Verve Tower 2, High Street South, 26th to 27th Ave, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Gaea
A good steak shouldn’t just be reserved for special occasions and celebratory nights—and in our opinion, Gaea in Addition Hills, San Juan is a great example of a restaurant that embraces this. Known for all day and all night dining (making it great for brunch and dinner alike), Gaea’s food menu changes at 5 PM, but Angus and Wagyu steaks are always on it. You could enjoy these with filtered coffee or a cocktail, but if you ask us, a bottle from Gaea’s natural-only wine list is the only way to go!
Must-Try Wine Pairing:
Whether you’re here for their Steak & Eggs for brunch or their Oyster Blade Steak with red chimichurri for dinner, you won’t go wrong with the light and juicy Tout Facile Rouge!
Dr. Wine
It comes to absolutely no one’s surprise that longtime favorite Dr. Wine has one of the best wine lists in Metro Manila, with bottles (natural, organic, and conventional alike!) from all over the world finding a home here. But did you know that, beyond their classic charcuterie boards and signature chicken liver mousse, they serve a mean steak? Not just kissed by fire in their open charcoal grill,, but also as a solid take on tartare! These distinct flavors, with the right wine? Magic.
Must-try Wine Pairing:
The knee-jerk reaction is always to order ribeye or a tomahawk, but Dr. Wine BGC’s Striploin Steak and Poblacion’s Five Founders Australian Striploin make an excellent case for leaner cuts—and that’s exactly what Gut Oggau’s lighter Family Reunion (Rot) is made for (though you definitely won’t go wrong having this with their Steak Tartare too!).
Dr. Wine is located at 5291 Algier St, Poblacion, Makati and at Parklane, Forbestown Rd, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
