There is an art to a boozy brunch: it’s not just a meal, but a deliberate way of starting your day. You get up late on the weekend after some well-deserved rest, dress to the nines, and meet your favorite people for hearty eats and a glass that’ll really get you all in a good mood that’ll last til evening.
There are plenty of restaurants in Metro Manila that serve brunch, but it’s these semi-early start spots that we at (Super)Natural have grown to love not just for great food, but also their fantastic openness to serving fantastic bottles of natural wine (the best kinds of brunch wines, in our opinion) before noon.
Dr Wine

Many know French bistro Dr. Wine as a destination for the night and the wee hours of the morning, be it its sophisticated yet lively wine bar in Poblacion or its more energetic outpost in BGC. What many miss out on, however, is the fact that the latter has a rockin’ breakfast menu full of brunch classics, from eggs benedict and and grain bowls to crepes and pancakes. But if you’re going all out for the weekend, both branches serve seafood towers on ice and seafood platters simmered in rich garlic butter with free-flowing wine!
Must-Try Natural Wine Pairing:
You’d be surprised how well a red natural wine can do at brunch, and the Judith Beck Blaufrankisch is proof. Order it with Dr. Wine BGC’s Savoury Crepe with forest ham, mushroom, asparagus, and gruyere (chef’s kiss)—or if you’re keeping things simple, it’ll also work with their Tapa Rice Bowl!
Dr. Wine is located in Forbestown Rd. Bonifacio Global City, Taguig and 5921 Algier St, Poblacion, Makati. The BGC branch is open daily for breakfast from 7 AM to 2 AM, while the Poblacion branch opens 12 NN for weekend brunch.
Gaea

For a cozy brunch where you can order something alcoholic before 11 AM without anyone batting an eyelash, you won’t go wrong with Gaea. Located along the sloping streets of Addition Hills in San Juan, this is one spot that means it when it says it’s about all day dining and all day drinking. For one thing, their doors open 7 AM daily: meaning you can get a mean steak and eggs and crab omelette as early as that. But take note: their menu transforms come 5 PM (more reason to come back). You can pair it with their solid lineup of signature cocktails (it’s by the some of the folks behind The Curator Coffee and Cocktails!), but their wine list in particular is unique among restaurants: they only serve natural wine!
Must-Try Natural Wine Pairing:
As long as it’s light—be it Gaea’s Crab Omelette, Straciatella Eggs, or Salmon Tartine—Microbio Wines’ fun and fizzy Nieva York Pet Nat Reserve is going to rock your world. If you’re after something heartier like their Steak Fried Rice, though, we’d recommend the Tout Facile Rouge!
Gaea is located at G/F Gallery 7 Design Center, 191 A. Mabini St, San Juan. It opens 7 AM daily, with its brunch and lunch menu available until 5 PM.
June Eatery

The newest kid on the block in this list (and the younger sibling of wine bar Bibio in Poblacion), June Eatery in BGC is the embodiment of the boozy brunches and girl dinners of our dreams. Think granola, scrambled eggs on toast with pork sausages, cured salmon, and of course: their signature pancakes with spiced maple syrup. Of course, the dream wouldn’t really be complete without a glass of natural wine to toast at the table—and June has plenty of bottles to go around!
Must-Try Natural Wine Pairing:
We at (Super)Natural believe that the gorgeously bright and tropical Picapol by Patrick Bouju is the brunch wine to end all brunch wines. Don’t believe us? Try it with nearly everything savory on June’s Brunch Menu, from their classic cured Salmon and Eggs on Toast to their Rosti and even their Breakfast Plate.
June Eatery is located at Burgos Circle Park, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Its brunch menu is available from 9 AM to 2:30 PM.
Manam at the Triangle

Few Filipino restaurants are as universally loved as Manam—house crispy sisig and watermelon sinigang, anyone?—and it’s played host to many a family lunch all over Metro Manila over the years. But what not many know is that you could head over to their flagship branch in Makati early to make it a family brunch instead: Michelin-approved Manam at the Triangle serves Pinoy breakfast hits as early as 9 AM. Not only do they have a mean House Ensaymada (with Queso de Bola and Manchego!) and Pan de Regla, but they even serve silog and their decadent Chicharon and Salted Egg Lugaw!
Must-Try Natural Wine Pairing:
You’re at a Filipino restaurant: you need a classic Filipino breakfast, and their Sari-Saring Longsilog is a no-brainer—or perhaps Manam’s more luxe house-made Kurbouta Pork Belly Tocilog. Bring it all home with a glass of Judith Beck’s light and juicy Beck Ink!
Manam at the Triangle is located at the restaurant arcade of Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati. It’s open from 9 AM to 10 PM daily.
