Hard times come to every household: the best way through is together. For the Gut Oggau family, this is literal. Unseasonable frost and hail brought the Austrian winery’s worst harvest to date, creating this electric, one-of-a-kind white blend using the grapes for aromatic Emmeram, cheeky Theodora, soulful Timotheus, and elegant Mechtild. All grapes fermented on their skins for a few weeks before oak-aging for 11 months, coming out with a crisp, youthful freshness, medium body, and an intense complexity. A rare bottle for a special occasion!

Gut Oggau
Stephanie and Eduard Tscheppe-Eselböck bought an old, abandoned 17th century vineyard in Burgenland, Austria in 2007. Instead of trying to change the winery, they discovered its natural potential. Each Gut Oggau bottle is distinct, world-class, and full of personality.

Behind the Bottle
After Stephanie and Eduard produced their first vintage, they were surprised by how much personality came through each barrel — and so the Gut Oggau wine family was born. Each bottle features a portrait of a fictional family member, communicating the differences in terroir through the portraits on the labels. Today, Gut Oggau is perhaps the most prolific and recognizable natural winery in the world.
