Maria and Sepp Muster’s labels are some of the most sought after bottles in the natural wine world. Their low intervention methods produce meditative bottles with great tension and minerality. Behind the Bottle
Located in the Styria region of Austria, the rocky clay, chalky, and silt soil, which has been in Sepp’s family since 1727, has never seen chemical treatment. After taking over Sepp’s parents estate, they obtained organic certification in 2003 for their 22 hectares of land. Their plots host over 70 plant species, breaking the mold of monoculture farming in wine — a testament to their commitment to biodynamics.
