Christian Tschida
Hokus Pokus 2017
What do you get when you put two aromatic bombs like Riesling and Gruner Veltliner in a single bottle? In Christian Tschida’s hands: magic. You get the expected zippy fresh acidity, medium-light body, as well as some tropical notes from the Gruner before getting hit hard with the aged Riesling’s signature petrol notes. Supernatural, if we say so ourselves!

Behind the Bottle
Obsessive about his vines and soil, Tschida promotes other plant life and animal life in his vineyards so as not to upset the elegant balance and terroir that he has become internationally recognized for. Using his vertical basket press that extracts only the best juice from his grapes, he ferments spontaneously at ambient temperature in large wooden barrels with long aging periods. Bottles are always unfiltered and unfined.
