Gut Oggau
"Family Reunion" Rot 2016
2016 was tough for the Gut Oggau family, the spring brought heavy frosts, the summer brought hailstorms, and the fall brought warmth. Although family members were scattered, Timotheus, Joschuari, and his son, Atanasius, were able to get together for a little family reunion. A one of a kind vintage made by blending 3 wines, resulting in a funky but balanced red wine filled with ripe red berries, earthy tones, and crisp acidity.

Gut Oggau
Stephanie and Eduard Tscheppe-Eselböck bought an old, abandoned 17th century vineyard in Burgenland, Austria in 2007. Instead of trying to change the winery, they discovered its natural potential. Each Gut Oggau bottle is distinct, world-class, and full of personality.

Behind the Bottle
After Stephanie and Eduard produced their first vintage, they were surprised by how much personality came through each barrel — and so the Gut Oggau wine family was born. Each bottle features a portrait of a fictional family member, communicating the differences in terroir through the portraits on the labels. Today, Gut Oggau is perhaps the most prolific and recognizable natural winery in the world.
