Didier Grappe
Chardonnay Longefin 2019
A 100% Chardonnay made by grapes from a single plot. Spontaneously fermented in open top stainless steel vats that are “topped up” to prevent over-evaporation. The initial acid on the palate is balanced by a long mineral finish and medium body with some funky wet grass and orange peel. A beautiful expression of a very specific terroir.

Behind the Bottle
With different terroirs on his land, Didier Grappe bottles his wines by plot — the Novelin plot is calcerous limestone, while the Longefin plot is densely packed clay.
Using only spontaneous fermentation and absolutely zero sulfites, he uses both stainless steel and old barrels depending on what's needed for the specific vintage. A vocal advocate for planting resistant hybrid grape varieties, he’s blurring the line between tradition and progressiveness, blazing a new path in Jura.
