Not even a hail storm can stop winemaker Fabrice Dodane from working his magic—and after his harvests were decimated by one, he rebounded with his Le Dos d’Chat (“The Cat’s Back”) wines made with grapes bought from friends all over Jura. Made of 100% Arbois Chardonnay, this bottle is full-bodied and crystal clear, with an unflinching acidity and complexity the cute label doesn’t quite prepare you for.

An imposing, good-natured figure in Arbois, bon-vivant vigneron Fabrice Dodane has raised his Saint-Pierre estate to the very heights of Jura winemaking.

Behind the Bottle
His wines are frank and authentic, expressing their terroir and the fruit. After working at the Pupillin cooperative, Fabrice Dodane first got involved, in 1989, in the Domaine de Saint-Pierre a few kilometers from Arbois, before taking over the domain in 2011. The vineyard then increased to 6 hectares and was converted to organic farming.
