This wine may be made by white grapes indigenous to Italy, but it is true to its name: it is only “just a bit white.” Categorically, it is a tiger glow orange—and in the hands of the uncompromising Gianmarco Antonouzi at Le Coste, it makes sure you know it’s proud of it: you get lots of marmalade on the nose and on the palate, as well as warm spices, bright acidity, and grippy tannins to bring it all home. Fantastic with food!

Behind the Bottle
Gianmarco and Clementine have farmed about 14 hectares of volcanic soils, rich in iron and minerals, near Lake Bolsena in Lazio, Italy since 2004. Today, the farm is tended with only the most natural and biodynamic ethos with olive groves, chestnut trees, and oak trees interspersed among ancient indigenous grapes.
Nothing is added at any stage, except for a minimal amount of sulfites in certain bottles, with spontaneous fermentation and aging occurring in steel, wood, and concrete.
