Judith Beck
Welschriesling Bambule! 2018
As a general rule, Judith Beck’s wines are reserved rather than loud. But the ‘Bambule!’ line is a reinterpretation of the classics. Welschriesling is a grape with a long tradition in Burgenland as a light bodied white and as some of the world’s best sweet wines. But Beck’s alignment as chaotic good has her fermenting on the skins and aging in wood barrels, leading to an orange wine with some body and character that retains its acidity, freshness and juiciness.

Behind the Bottle
Literally living amongst her vines by lake Neusiedl, Judith Beck has developed a deep relationship with her vineyards. A respect for nature is paramount for Beck’s viticulture philosophy that also follows its way into her cellar. Low intervention with no filtering or fining, and minimal sulfites lead to very authentic wines that are true expressions of the multitude of terroirs across her 13.5 hectares of land.
